Single-line place

A single-line place is one planetary line passing within range of a real, named city, close enough and populous enough to be worth a pin. One planet's line defines it, so it carries that planet's theme cleanly, without the blend you get where two lines meet. It is pinned and named for the city, region, and country it lands on, and read in plain English like any other place.

Two neighboring terms complete the picture. A line crossing is two lines meeting at a point, both planets angular at once, their themes mixing. A power place is the umbrella for any spot strong enough to matter, single line or crossing. The closer the line passes to the city, the stronger the single-line place reads.
