Deleting your account
Last updated July 18, 2026
This page explains how to delete your Lovecartography account: the steps to start it, what stops working right away, what is removed for good, and what we keep afterward and why. It applies to accounts on both the web app (app.lovecartography.com) and the mobile app. Deleting an account is permanent after a 30-day grace period. For the complete account of what we collect and how we handle it, see the privacy policy.
How to delete your account
You delete your account from inside the app, in your account settings.
- Open the app and go to Settings.
- Open Account & security.
- Choose Delete account.
- Type your email address and re-enter your password to confirm.
We ask for your password because a deletion cannot be undone from an email or a link, so we confirm it is really you at the moment you start it. If you have forgotten your password and cannot sign in, see If you cannot sign in, below.
The 30-day grace period
Deleting your account starts a 30-day grace period. It is a safety net in case you change your mind.
The moment you confirm, the account is locked. You cannot use the app in the normal way, and everything tied to your account stops working for other people too: your charts, your saved places, your history, and every share link you have sent. Anyone who opens one of your share links during this time sees a not-available message, not the chart.
You can still sign in during the 30 days. When you do, the app shows you a restore screen instead of your charts. Choosing Restore brings everything back exactly as it was, including a paid plan that is still active. Restore happens only here, by signing in and choosing it. There is no restore link in an email.
What happens after 30 days
When the 30 days end, the deletion becomes permanent. A cleanup runs once a day, so your data is removed at the first daily run after the window closes, normally within 24 hours. After that, none of it can be brought back.
At that point we remove:
- your account and the way you sign in,
- every chart you own, along with all of its share links,
- your saved places,
- your reading history,
- any PDF reports you made, including the stored files.
What we keep, and why
Two things outlive the deletion, on purpose, and nothing else does.
- If you ever unsubscribed from our email, we keep a do-not-contact record. It holds your email address for one reason: so that we never email you again. Removing it would let a future message reach you, which is the opposite of what you asked for.
- If you ever paid, we keep your billing history: the customer and invoice records held by our payment processor, Stripe. Tax and financial-records law requires a business to keep these for a set period. We keep the minimum the law asks for, and no more.
Neither record is used to build charts, and neither is used for marketing.
Paid plans
If you have a paid plan, deleting your account cancels it. The cancellation takes effect when the account is deleted, and at the latest at the end of the 30-day window. Partial periods are not refunded.
If you restore your account while the plan is still active, the plan continues. A plan whose period has already ended does not come back.
Charts you did not create, or were added to
If someone added you to their couple or group chart, that chart belongs to them, not to you. Deleting your account does not delete their chart, and the birth data you share within it stays with that chart, under their account.
If you want your birth data removed from someone else's chart, write to [email protected] and we will take care of it. You do not need an account of your own to make that request.
Charts made without an account
You can make a chart without signing in. A chart made this way has no account attached to it, so the account-deletion process above does not reach it. There is no account to delete.
To remove a chart you made without an account, you have two options:
- Claim it into an account. Sign up or sign in, claim the chart so it becomes yours, then delete that account using the steps above. Deleting the account removes the chart with it.
- Ask us to remove it. Write to [email protected] and tell us about the chart. This is a request a person handles, not an automatic button.
If you cannot sign in
Signing in to the web app is the only self-serve way to delete an account. There is no web form that deletes an account without signing in.
If you cannot sign in, because you have lost your password or cannot reach the app, write to [email protected] from the email address on the account and ask us to delete it. A person reads and handles these requests; it is not an automatic endpoint.
